You can use the Backup function in ACP to create backups of the entire MyBB database.
Once you've done, all of your forum data, settings and themes are saved.
With this backup you can easily recover a MyBB forum.
Ensure you are running the same version!

Also mind plugins installed! So before recover a database into an new all-new forum, ensure plugins are installed as well.
When the forum is installed (files copied) and plugins are in place like the original, do the database restore.

When you've not made any changes to PHP core files, then you just
1. Copy the installation files
2. Change the config.php file matching your new domain
3. Re-install your plugins (copy plugins files over as well)
4. Restore the database backup
