I'm not 100% sure if this is the solution, but try recounting & rebuilding that counter from the ACP. It's worth a try.
Have do that, still not working
AFAIK, MyBB 1.8's statistics are generated with data of a board in the whole time span. So those threads are just indeed the most replied/viewed ones in OP's board.
If ever another thread gets maybe 33+ replies, it will show in the left panel or 26557+ views to show in the right panel, numbers w.r.t. OP's screenshot only. ;P

That's completely normal, no need to worry about that.
But is not working still yet
