Mails (including activation emails) that are sent to hotmail or yahoo users are NOT getting through and are blocked.

This is really slowing down user growth on the forum!

Is there any way to fix this?

I thought of instant activation, with moderation on 1st post, but I would be inundated with spam posts to moderate, I think.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks a lot in advance.
Hello,
assuming that this isn't caused by an error on your side, you could try contacting them, but I doubt they'll do much.
Or you could change mail servers.. but that isn't really much of a solution.
[Edit: assuming you're using SMTP, just to clarify.]
It may be a solution to change from PHP mail to SMTP mail if you have tried the steps https://docs.mybb.com/1.8/faq/mail/ .

Can you send email from your system to these hosts outside of myBB?  Quite a few larger sites require as successful *reverse* DNS lookup before they accept incoming email.  While it's easy to get your upstream provider to accept your DNS records, you often have to contact them in order to get the reverse records in place.
Check your IP / mail server https://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx you are likely blacklisted.

Actually no, just proper DKIM and SPF will generally permit mail to be sent correctly.
