Why does full edit (as opposed to quick edit) add blank lines between every paragraph after I save it? I open a post to correct a word or phrase and after I save it the post has somehow been expanded with dozens of blank lines. Is it the word processor I'm using for the original post? Do I have something set wrong on my site? I'm having a lot of difficulty with the formatting of posts on my site. It's a writing site so a lot of things are copied and pasted to it. And the formatting of paragraphs, etc, is important.
Is there a better type of extention to save docs to (txt? rtf, odt, etc?) [/url]

first you can paste into a text editor and from it again copy & paste to your forum !

you may also try using minify html plugin & check if it helps ..

When copying text over and over from other editors, I would recommend to switch the editor to source mode (partial mode).
Otherwise you may also copy control characters and specific line breaks (CR LF etc)

Better do the source mode to make all inserts plaintext only.

This is 2021 April, but it is not fixed yet. I use version of mybb 1.8.26

There is no difference of the behavior of the standard editor in years ago or years to come.
This editor is "clever" and still interprete meta details of content copied.

There is no fix, because there is no bug

Just enable source mode (converting the editor from WYSIWYG into plain text) will solve this issue.
