Hello, so i just setup mybb for some friends, the forum is up but when you try to login, it keeps saying "Hello There. Guest! Login/Register"
i have no theme on and i don't care if i have to wipe mybb. could this be a database issue? the users exist as you can say you were refereed but you cannot login. You can log into the admin panel, and it saves but admin still cant log in to the forum.
This could be a number of things. What happens when you attempt to login? Do you get an error, such as an “authorization code mismatch” error? Or does it log you in, but immediately kick you out once you visit the next page?
Did you recently change settings, move to a new server or domain, change a theme, or otherwise change something specific that caused these issues to start?

also it sometimes give auth code missmatch and othertimes just wont let you log out/log in. it just simply goes back like you never tried. we never moved servers, we just made a new forum. no settings besides aesthetics changed
It seems like there are a couple of different things going on here.
Firstly, the authorization code mismatch can be solved like this:
https://community.mybb.com/thread-218862.html. But you will need to resolve the issue with logins kicking you out first, before you can edit the templates. (You're getting this particular error because the theme you've installed is not updated for the latest versions of MyBB. They recently locked down the security a little more, but theme authors had to make certain edits in order to make their themes compatible. I you follow the thread, you will be okay, and no other modifications will be required! It's a fairly common issue and a lot of people have had to perform the fixes on their themes. )
It also sounds like there is an issue with the cookie settings as well. That is the normal cause for logins kicking you out immediately after login. See this page for more details:
