When we create a new thread and add 20 images, we then reply and add 20 more. It seems though that you can't add any more after that. Can it be changed fro multiple replies by same user?

you can disable merging of posts by using below setting

forum admin panel >> configuration [settings] >> posting
>> Post Flood Checking --> set to off
