MyBB Version 1.8.22
PHP Version 7.2.28
SQL Engine MySQLi 5.7.28
Server Load 0.07
I upgraded to PHP 7.2 and renewed my SSL certification this week, but I don't know if they are related. The timing is suspicious, though.
This is a weird issue my users just brought to my attention. I've done experiments to try to pin down exactly what the symptoms are, but it's confusing.
Users reported logging out and in to the site, but when they logged in, they got the Authorization mismatch error. I looked at the stickied thread here, but those fixes have already been applied to my templates. They were probably there from the beginning, since I think my install version was after 1.8.16.
It looks to me like the problem is caused by the site not letting users log out. My board is pretty locked down and you can only view the forums and posts if you're logged in, so keep that in mind when I describe what's happening. If I click the log out button and then try to go to the board index, I'm confronted with the login screen (this makes sense). If I try to then log in, I get the authorization mismatch error. If I instead just open a bookmark to one of my forums or to a thread, the page will load and I can see the posts. I can even create a new thread or post. So I'm not actually logged out.
I think the authorization mismatch error is because I'm logging in but the site shows I'm already logged in. However, I am not able to view the board index, only the actual forums, so something's still wrong. I am logged out in a sense and not in another.
Any ideas?
I'm using the Default theme and templates. I do have another theme installed, but the problem is happening regardless of what theme is being used.
I wasn't logging errors before, but I am now.
Added to that, we've also noticed some odd refresh issues that may or may not be related. Like if you post a reply in a thread and then go back to the forum page, it'll show that thread as unread unless you refresh the page again. And when you click the "Go to first unread post" link, it often won't show all the new posts that have appeared. You have to refresh the thread again after entering it to show all the current replies.
Thanks in advance!
