Nice theme - a shame its not responsive!


Is it true there only are about 10 responsive themes for MyBB?

But buying a theme and all that talk about BB 1.9. Is there going to be a 1.9?

No one really knows. I hope it comes soon so that we can create new themes for 1.9

The way that things are now, it will be some time, but it will almost certainly come. I wouldn't count on it being very soon.

Honestly, MyBB is free software and is fantastic (probably the most powerful free software that exists), but premium developers have really filled a gap in the design world for MyBB as of late with paid themes. That's more or less been the solution for a considerable percentage of MyBB forums nowadays. The alternative is to try to modify one of the free ones a bit. It can be a little tricky at first, but even modifying widths, colors, and padding can make a very big difference in how a design looks. You may be able to come up with something that you like based on one of the designs that are freely available.

Every forum software has its pros and cons. With MyBB, it's the single most extensible free forum software on the market, and has some amazing features, plugins, and themes. Its downside is, as you say, having relatively few responsive free themes out of the box, but this can be fixed with a little customization on one of the themes already available.
