I have downloaded a theme off the internet but I have a problem: The way posts look

I would like to add a box behind the post but I am not a programmer nor am I sure where I would include it

If someone could help me with a code to get me going I could do the rest, I just don't really know how it would be done and where the code would go.

I want a box behind the text and one behind the user info with his name, posts, stars, avatar, etc.

basically, adding border to css classes post_author & post_content might work.
forum url & theme name are required so that someone can check & provide suggestions
