Can someone explain to me what the user referral system menas and where I can find an example of it.

user control panel contains referral url. example :

user profile displays members referred by the user.

some forums prefer using referral system.
new users must be introduced by a existing user.

if you do not like using it then it can be disabled.
setting is at "Login and Registration Options" of forum admin panel
