Hello all! 

I would like to change my emoticons to Apple ones, Emojis. 

Is this possible, if so how do I best start? 

I heard that I need to change my database structure to utf8mb4.

Yes, to store text with Emoji characters in the database, you need to switch the Character Set to utf8mb4 / Collation to utf8mb4_unicode.

Keep in mind this is different to the standard Smilies of the forum system (these are image-based).
