Is it possible to use the Full Upgrade package to go up 1 dot point (eg v1.8.22 - v1.8.23) rather than the Changed Files package? In this scenario would the Full Upgrade package offer v1.8.22 as the version I am updating from if I use the Full Upgrade package, when running the upgrade script?
I have had problems previously using the Changed Files package upgrading 1 dot point of versions.
if your existing version is 1.8.22 then you can use changed files pack for 1.8.23
there should be no problem in updating from the most recent version to the latest one.

^ of course, yes. you can also use full package (assuming that you have not modified any files)

Just to add to what .m. said, always check the release notes, they state which type of package and script is required or note.
