Running 1.8.23

Immediately upon implementation of the site my webmaster email started getting heavy spam. I changed the email address but the spam continued.

I’m not clear what is going on. How are these scum bags getting the site email address when our contact page is a form?

What do I need to do to mask our webmaster address?

I am a novice user at best so spoon feeding required.

Is the spam coming from your contact form or is it "real" spam. If it's not from the form, it's not related to MyBB.

If it comes from contact form, you can disable contact to guest from ACP » Home » Board Settings » Contact Settings

Okay, now that you say mention it, it must be coming from my contact form as the subjects are all prefixed with “Contact”

BTW, it's strange because MyBB uses captcha when guest uses contact form.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but captcha must be enabled in your general config before it appears on the contact page?
