Hello.  I am relatively new to MyBB and would like a bit of clarity on the editing of the htaccess file as mentioned in the upgrade documentation.

The Forum has two htaccess files: htaccess.txt and htaccess-nginx.txt.

Where exactly in each of these files should the command to deny access to all but the administrator be placed?

When I tried last week when upgrading to v23 it seemed not to work.

Any advice greatly appreciated as I am about to upgrade to v24, and would feel safer being able to follow the full process as described.

Try .htaccess - MyBB doesn't create it automatically, so it may not exist yet (in which case htaccess.txt with recommended configuration can be renamed to .htaccess).
