I didn't do any updates or changes, but suddenly saw, that whenever I go to the homepage of
my forum, it starts a download of a file called
Quote:update_popup_for_1.9.7.svg
File origin is:

When I open the file with BBEdit it says:

Why is this happening and how can I get rid of this? That's totally embarrassing.

Don't know what happens, I didn't change anything too.
Solved.
It's related to ProStats 'Check for updates' option enabled.
There isn't a new version according here: https://prostats.wordpress.com/
So, simple disable that option
I can confirm, that is has to do with ProStats. But disabling check for updates didn't help.

I have 3 forums, and this helps only in one forum
The other 2 forums I am still getting the download file notification every time I open the forum

Yeah sorry, you were right. This fixed it.
Hope there will be a fixed version of ProStats available soon.

hmmm, haven't looked at this in a good while (eh, perhaps 2 years or so give or take)....
but, I gather what you want is for setting 27 to be removed entirely from the plugin?
hmm, though that gets me thinking that if setting 27 is removed entirely, then it only makes sense that setting 28 should also be as well, hmm also, makes sense, will see if I have some free time soon to remove that setting entirely also. update: mkay, found a quick sec of free time -> ie: the attachment below now has both setting 27 and 28 entirely removed.

I have same problem, when I go my forum and log in, then comes the file content_suprise.svg to download. But this only in Google Chrome Browser. The repo from the VintageDaddyo is not more active ..
I search a alternative to prostats ;D
