How do I update my forum from MyBB 1.2 to MyBB 1.2.1 without losing any files at all?

Many files have changed between 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 so it is unfortunately not possible to upgrade without overwriting some existing files. All your users, threads, posts, languages, plugins, themes and so on should remain intact however.

Sorry, but now my forum just died. ALL the topics, users, themes, plugins, posts, and files are gone.

Huh? How did that happen? You have a back up of the database and/or files?
