I talked with a friend that suggested that I could get RSS syndication on my forum
but there is more than one forum with the same subject and also running MyBB

Is it wise to have RSS running if they can see everything shared and maybe even copy or rip the content of it

There won't be any SEO benefits for you if you are using duplicate content. The only benefit for you would be that your forums will have content count and it is sometimes beneficial for forums to have initial content rather than starting from scratch.

And what about our competition ckecking our RSS to steal our content from our RSS feed

Would you in this case disable it or not?
