People have a need to be heard to satisfy social needs, unfortunately because educational systems are poor people usually have poor conversation material or skills, so some people would just say whatever is in their arsenal to not be silent.
The more you educate yourself the more stupid other's conversations might sound to you (not a rule but quite common).
But I think you can't be the smart one if you aren't capable of understanding the deep feelings or ideas people try to share through poor conversation or pondering skills, regardless of how stupid they might sound.
Of course all or parts of this might sound narcissistic or pedantic.

Talking about freedom, about ethical issues, about responsibilities as well as convenience, is asking people to think about things they might prefer to ignore, such as whether their conduct is ethical. This can trigger discomfort, and some people may simply close their minds to it. It does not follow that we ought to stop talking about these things. ~ Richard Stallman
Without absolute certainty, what do we do? We do the best we can. Injustice is happening now; suffering is happening now. We have choices to make now. To insist on absolute certainty before starting to apply ethics to life decisions is a way of choosing to be amoral. ~ Richard Stallman
Whether gods exist or not, there is no way to get absolute certainty about ethics. Without absolute certainty, what do we do? We do the best we can. ~ Richard Stallman

Dunning-Kruger effect?
Some people really, really like the sound of their voice, almost to the point of it being some kind personal aphrodisiac for them, besides, if these people aren't around to proudly showcase their ignorance, then how would the rest of us know how ignorant they are?
