Can anyone tell me, why Buddy List link is not showing in the welcomeblock?
Does it have to be enabled from somewhere else?

Check template: header_welcomeblock_member
that should contain a variable: {$buddylink}

Also check template: header_welcomeblock_member_buddy
that should contain the link itself.

$buddylink is only being build, when there are members in your buddy list - else it is empty and hidden.
