Deleting a thread won't immediately remove it from Google. Google will re-crawl the thread eventually, see it doesn't exist, and remove it from its index.

Assuming Google bot has default permissions (guest) - yes, it will eventually disappear...

It should disappear eventually, yes.
Saying that, the error page does return a 200 status code instead of 404, w should probably change that.
And yes, as long as it's not publicly visible, it'll be fine if it's only soft deleted.
