Had to upgrade my website to PHP 7.4 (web hosting service said it was/is necessary).

The main website is fine with no problems.

The forum had error/warning messages about php (please don't ask what they were- as I don't  remember much about it.  There was some comment about line 637 (I think) and advertisements....though there are no advertisements on my forum)

So, I had the web hosting service downgraded to PHP 5 and all is well.

But supposedly my website has to be upgraded to PHP 7.4.

How do I fix MyBB so that it works with PHP 7.4?

Thanks,

Peter

for me working fine with php 7.4...
so probably some plugin incompatible with php 7.4 that you use.
We'd need to know the actual error as MyBB is fully compatible with PHP 7.4. The advertisements must have been coming from a plugin as it's not core MyBB functionality.
In which sub-folder are plugins located?

Found it-  /inc/plugins
