Hello,

I have been looking for a threaded Proboards-like forum for months now, until yesterday a friend told me to try out myBB... so my first question is: is this indeed a threaded forum? And if yes, is it ad-free ... ?

Secondly, I just downloaded the Documentation and Upload folders, managed to unzip them, but then ... the problem already started. I have NO idea whatsoever what the next paragraph on the webpage explaining the installment procedure even means...

Is there anyone here who would be willing to do a shared screen zoom call to help me get through the process ... ?

Thanks in advance!
The documentation is @ https://docs.mybb.com/1.8/install/

Quote:you will need to upload the contents of the Upload/ directory to either your website root directory (sometimes called www, htdocs or httpdocs), or a subdirectory of your root directory (such as /forums or /community).
Quote:To access the installer you must navigate to the install/ directory of your site in your web browser. For example, if your domain is example.com and you uploaded your MyBB files to the root directory then navigate to http://example.com/install, or if you uploaded to a forums/ subdirectory then navigate to http://example.com/forums/install.

Thanks for your reply.
The problem is worse than that ...
I don't even know how to upload the files to the root directory ... . That's why I'm looking for somehow who can guide me through it via shared screen on zoom ... :-)
Ok, you have a server account out there somewhere. Can you access the server with a FTP client? Filezilla is the one I use.
Check also your cpanel if it has mybb installation.
Most cpanels have it, You can install it easy through there
