A preview version of MyBB 1.8.27 expected to address numerous reported issues is now ready for public testing.
During this phase we welcome board administrators, developers and our Community to verify installation, upgrading, compatibility, and general stability using test and/or staging environments before an official upgrade is released and applied to live boards.
Download from GitHub: https://github.com/mybb/mybb/releases/ta...1827_build
* Non-production use only: Pre-release versions, including upgrades to/from/between them, are generally not supported. Test packages may contain errors that may be difficult to recover from on active boards.
* Pre-release: The software can be installed or upgraded by placing/overwriting files from the package. The final release may include further modifications including those addressing security issues, and separate update packages for use with the previous version.
* Dynamic build: The provided code is attached to a repository tag that may be updated when additional public updates are pushed.
Resolved Issues: https://github.com/mybb/mybb/issues?q=is...s%3Aclosed
Comments: This version adds HTML validation to the parser's output, which may result in empty output when invalid HTML is output. In that case, please check your error log and report both the error and the circumstances in which it was generated. This version also adds preliminary support for PHP 8, which is not expected to be complete.
Testing focus:
Go to mybb.com/security to report possible security concerns or to learn more about security research at MyBB.

- Attachments, especially drag-and-drop of attachments onto the (new) dropzone, especially on Firefox (Re Further Attachments Overhaul)
- The parser's auto-URL feature (Re Auto URL parsing may break HTML entities)
- Video and image limits when merging posts (Re Post merge doesn't do check on video/image count)
- Usergroup permissions (Re Fix numerical permissions logic for user with multiple user groups)
- Custom moderation tool permissions (Re Custom mod tools group permission checks missing)
- Thread list pagination (Re Use cached values for calculating thread count in forum view)
- Relative and absolute upload paths for attachments and avatars (Re Absolute uploadspath fails due to MYBB_ROOT prefix on mime check, Upload paths inaccuracy, Fixes #4338 / #3754 - Relative/absolute path, and Rework #4342 - Relative/absolute path)
- New pagination in ACP pages (Re Add word filters pagination, IP Ban list in the ACP no pagination, and Add pagination to certain Admin CP locations)
