At AdminCP > Template Sets > Diff Report, the Diff Report shows the diffs between outdated edited template and the original as total blank if the edited template and the original are exactly the same.
In such circumstance, as I understand, the Template Difference Analysis should display the template content in white background color without any red or green backgrounded texts.


Anyway, it's not fatal but may confuse users.

I can confirm... there should be at least some notice

I'm used to use diff, when there is no difference, it shows nothing.
The sentence "shows you exactly what changes have been made between your customized copy and the latest master copy" says what it means. No change, nothing to display.

From a UX perspective, it could be improved. But I don't think this should be fixed in 1.8
