After upgrade to 1.8.29, my users not getting account verification email and also password reset options.
There is below error on system mail log.
“Unable to connect to the mail server with the given details. Reason: 110: Connection timed out”
Please guide.

I am using SMTP Mail settings which works fine on 1.8.26.
Looks like issue related to SMTP mail. Settings are ok.

It sounds like an issue with the remote SMTP service if it’s saying it’s timing out.

It did not happen before upgrading to 1.8.29.
Any fix for it?

I don’t think anything has changed with SMTP mail, the mail handler code hasn’t changed since May 2020, and the error wouldn’t be anything MyBB-side anyway. If you install a fresh copy of 1.8.26 on the same server, does it work?

As you mentioned, I install 1.8.26 fresh copy and upgrade to 1.8.29 ——-> Mail sending OK with SMTP and PHP mail

In running board, PHP mail was working fine and now again I checked with SMTP mail ——> Mail sending OK with SMTP and PHP Mail.

Looks like, there may be issue from hosting side.

So, No issue in mail sending after upgrade to 1.8.29.
