When I try to run merge system I get this error "

I do not have a MyBB installation,my forum is SMF and I want to upgrade from SMF to MyBB
To merge your SMF to MyBB, you need to install MyBB. Merging is not an upgrade, it's a kind of translation of your SMF database to the MyBB one

OK, how? let's say my SMF forum is
https://mydomain.com where should place the file of merge and MyBB
https://mydomain.com/mybb/merge ?
or just upload to the root directory and replace SMF files
https://mydomain.com?
The best way (imho) is to create a subdir "mybb/" and install mybb there.
The merge system, as explained
in the documentation must be in the merge/ directory of your MyBB installation, which gives us mybb/merge/.
DO NOT replace SMF files until your mybb works.
