I wanted to increase the attachment sizes for my posts. I've changed the setting in attachment types as well as increased the overall message size however I am still getting the message "You can upload a maximum of 2.1 MB at o nce".

Go to ACP > Tools & Maintenance > what value does it have for "Max Upload / POST Size" here?

It says 2M / 8M

Okay, so the 2MB limit is coming from the server PHP limit. You can usually change this in your hosting control panel (i.e. cPanel), or if not you'll need to ask your host.
