Else all is okay so should I update to 1.8.31 ?

1.8.31 is Security & Maintenance Release
this mean fix some core problem and Security bug (Medium risk in this update)
also updates add new features or fix problems of mybb core not plugins issues.
The issue in that thread isn't anything to do with 1.8.30 or MyBB itself, it's to do with the plugin. You should always update to new releases, especially if they are security releases.

Is it possible to fix that plugin issue ?
If the plugin author or someone else can provide a fix, yes.
