Can I add an admin user to the database? I can't log into the admincp with my admin user credentials for some reason.

Default administrators usergroup is 4. For the user you have in mind in mybb_users table, set either usergroup field to 4 (that's primary), or make additionalgroups field include 4. If blank, set additionalgroups to 4, or if already member of another additionalgroup, add as comma-listed 4, i.e. 4,10.

Check your username first to see what the setting is. You don't say what the error is upon failure to login to admincp.
