Hello MyBB community,

I hope you're all doing well. I am currently in the process of upgrading my MyBB forum from version 1.8.33 to the latest version, 1.8.34. As per the documentation, I followed the recommended steps to ensure a smooth upgrade, which included backing up both the files and the database.

However, I encountered an issue while attempting to create a database backup through the MyBB admin panel. When I navigate to "Home » Database Backups » New Database Backup,"

the downloaded file appears to be damaged and is only 224 bytes in size. This indicates that the backup file is incomplete or corrupted.

In an attempt to troubleshoot this problem, I also tried to download the database directly from phpMyAdmin. Unfortunately, I faced another obstacle as the downloaded file did not include all the tables in the database. Instead of the expected size of approximately 31MB, the downloaded file was much smaller and appeared to be incomplete.

Thank you in advance for your support and suggestions. I look forward to hearing from you and resolving this issue promptly.

It’s a compressed zip file. It’s going to appear smaller.

You may want to locate and review the MySQL error log. Where is it?
This link may help.

Look in phpMyadmin under variables tab for general_log and general_log_file.
If you do not have access to the log file or it is not enabled, you'll want to contact your host.
