Recently I updated my forum from 1.8.5 to 1.8.31

One weird issue I found today was with the url links in the forum. All mybb links are working fine, but the external links that the users inserted shows an error. All the www. are transformed into ... for example the link https://www.mybb.com is taken as https://...mybb.com.

This applies to previously inserted links and for new links.

If we remove the www. porion from the url, it is working fine.

Please help me to solve the issue

first the question why you did the update to 1.8.31? Currently is 1.8.34 or is that just a typo that you would have made in two topics though

are all templates and javascript files up to date?

Yes, it was a typo and I'm sorry for that. I'm running the latest version.

For the second question. I think it I'm running the latest versions because installed latest themes for the forum. Is there anyway to check whether they are up to date ?

it's not about latest theme , it's about the version that did you upload latest version of mybb files to your website files and did you upgrade to the latest version while upgrading ?

I had the same problem years ago and solved it via configuration > word filters.

The word filter was the problem. I deleted the rule that converts the www string to ... and things are working fine.
