The encouragement to use 2FA in MyBB or any service would be about evaluating at least two aspects of managing a website :
- Privacy: If the personal information stored in your site is worth protecting, or
- Economic risk: If the danger of unauthorized access to your Admin Panel puts your assets (income) at risk or the cost or repairing any possible damage done is worth the worry.
Ultimately, enabling 2FA is just enabling an extra layer of protection to your personal assets (data, income, etc).
I personally use 2FA in any services as possible if they hold personal information of mine, but for MyBB not always as I manage different MyBB sites.
