Full Version: Need name of the sub forum in the URL

Hi there,

I tried searching the forum for an answer but unfortunately couldn't find any...

Basically, I have a small forum: https://sgs-game.com/forum/ and this forum has 3 sub forums, each of them being named appropriately. Clicking one of the sub forums leads me to where I should be. However the URL address doesn't look like what I would expect it to look like.

so for example,  if I click the sub forum: Bug Reports,  I would expect the URL to be something like this: https://sgs-game.com/forum/bug-reports.html while here it's https://sgs-game.com/forum/forum-6.html...

Is there a way to edit this? so that it takes the name of the sub forum inside the URL address?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Sincerely,
I recommend Google SEO for this purpose.

Thanks for the recommendation. Smile  I guess I'll have to check out that plugin then. Was it designed by MyBB so that it works pretty much seamlessly with the forum? That would be great if the integration is that easy.

Also, is there some sort of tutorial, PDF doc or videos on how to use it?

Thanks! Smile

No, but it was designed by a well-respected community member who has also written a popular library for MyBB plugin integration (which Google SEO also uses).

It's pretty much seamless, with the exception of the need for (1) some patches, which can be applied from the plugin's listing in the ACP (they sometimes need to be reapplied after an upgrade to MyBB core), and (2) some edits to your .htaccess file.

Yes, it comes with documentation in inc/plugins/google_seo.html.

That's OK.
