I don't know what I did, but I see a lot of wide widths now:

Especially in the width of the "Forum" column in the subforum list:

How can I make the "Forum" column skinny again?  And can I have the "Last Post" be as wide as the longest thread title?

Then for the thread list page, the "Important Threads" and "Normal Threads" column is too wide:

I also don't see the thread author date and time info anymore.

And the "Last Post" is too wide.

Can I have the "Last Post" be only as wide as necessary?

Even when I click on a thread, the posts appear centered, in the middle of the page.

Not left aligned.

You have a text-align: center; in the body definition of global.css

Thank you!  Removing it fixed it.

On the threads list page, how can I get the author date and time next to the topic starter?
