Hello,

if a subforum (with >30 topics and >400 posts) is switched to "not visible" for guests in the ACP, it will still be visible to guests. Only the number of posts and topics is hidden.

This seems to be a forum-specific problem, because if I don't make a subforum visible to guests in other forums, then they really can't see it anymore.

What is the reason? How can you get it working again?

Thanks for any tips and advice.
Bump.
Can no one give anyone any help in resolving the malfunction?
Not sure how much help, but as a practical example of the concept, we have an administration forum only mods and admins can see.  It's a category, because has several sub-forums.

At the parent forum level, we clear guest permissions with custom disallowed actions.  The child forums inherit those permissions:

Works fine for us, now at 1837.  I should add, regular members are similarly excluded from seeing content using the same methodology.
Thanks for the tip.

The cause of the supposed malfunction was self-inflicted.

Solution:
ACP > Configuration >> Home > Hide private forums? Was defined as “No”. After switching to "yes" it works as desired.
OK, already had that defined as yes.  Good to know though, if it come up again. Toungue
