Thanks I tried this but it breaks my forum, I already provided screenshot of what what happens when I apply those settings. Here is the original error, the normal forum (with plugin disabled) and with those settings on

and also.. you may check / review if the Plugin has this somewhere inside its code:  ini_set('display_errors', 1);

Everything is "Writable"and no such code was found

Any update? I understand the plugin is old but just hoped I could find a fix for this

You need to update that plugin, due it is outdated, some parts even those mentioned by you must been changed, i have updated a long time ago and i share it, but now i only have a very modified version on my site but it is not a free one.

But yeah some parts needs to update.

Why don't you move to DVZ Shoutbox, i see many people around here and in many forums using it and works fine as far as i know.

But if you want this one, just try to leave the mods url, i think that way many users can help to you due it is only an error due some new changes into php versions.

I meant what is your current mod that you use, the url where you have downloaded it.

For example this is my url

That is where i have it already the last version i have modified, it is the original one, but with some several mods i make.

But we can modify it your own versions if you like, to keep it at your owns, but with the current fixes / patches due incompatibility with some php versions or some server modes enabled.
