Hello there,

MYBB's buddy system doesn't really have any function or benefit for a user, except to show "you are my friend".

The simple function of only receiving PMs from friends would change that. I've looked for a plugin but haven't found one.

So here is a suggestion for such a plugin. A checkbox could be added to the options for this: "Only receive PMs from friends".

this is a feature of MyBB, take a look at the UserCP --> Edit Options --> Only receive private messages from users on my Buddy List. This setting has no effect unless there is at least one buddy on the list.

May be you are unaware of it , but MyBB has this feature in by default

Yes, sorry, I was not aware of it.

It seems to be a new feature. I am working with 1.8.33 right now.
