Should I be worried about adding these? I don't want to make it where upgrading is impossible or very difficult. What should I look out for? Should I just not do any of these at all?

Right now, all you need to do is deactivate all your plugins, update Forums and activate plugins again. It's very simple

Okay, I didn't know if it would make it so updating was nearly impossible.
