Hope im in the right place, posting this, i read install, that covers a large area? sorry if im in the wrong place?
I need to put some smileys on my forum, when i made a file for each one of them, then upload them on ftp forum/images/icons
they have a x box , rather than a pic after when i go to add them from the acp , after uplaoding them through ftp?
what am i doing wrong, the other original smileys are gif, the ones i have are jpg?
is that the prob?
also theres a smiley folder in the forum/images folder as well as icons??
whats up with this?? do they have to go in all folders? and images too?
is there a place to get te instructions on doing this?
this site is larger than what it looks, i cant seem to find what im looking for, can anyone help me or direct me to the info? or help me? pls

Smiles to be inserted into posts should be uploaded to the /images/smilies folder.
The icons folder is for the icons you use when posting a thread, thread icons. Such as the question mark image you've used here.

Then go here:
Admin CP --> Message Filters --> Smilie Manager --> Add New Smilie
And enter your smiley details.
