followed the doc on adding a theme, and I added the h4x0r theme to my forum (v1.2.9) and set both my CP and the forums to h4x0r but nothing changes... is there a good tutorial or common mistake on installing and enabling new themes on a board?

This may sound silly, but did you clean out your browser cache, as in hitting the Ctrl/F5 keys?

Did you make it the default skin when you installed it? Maybe that's why?

Check that you're selecting the new theme at User CP --> Edit Options

Thanks all. Changed the image path. Did the trick.

But how do you set it to be the default theme for the entire board?

go to Admin CP => Themes => Modify/delete and select "set as default" on the drop down bar for you theme

you must go to to adminCP -> themes -> modify delete
