Hi there, I have just tried installing the mod showing in the title which was created by Tikitiki, but after editing the settings...

Post a message on registration to new users? Yes

Enter the user ID of the author of these automated posts. 1

Enter the Forum ID of the Forum for these automated posts. 1

Enter the subject of the automated post. Welcome {username}!

Enter the message of the automated post. Hi there {username}, and welcome to Dave's Pub!

Then submitting the changes, for some reason it's not working.

Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, I see where I went wrong, I had edited the "post" text, but I'm guessing it needed to be done in the php file for the plug in. So I have tried that with adding the above "post" text but now there's this error...

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /******/******/public_html/forums/inc/plugins/postonreg.php on line 113

Is there any way to resolve this with having the "post" text that I'd like

Uhh why would I provide you a setting if it wasn't supposed to be used?

The plugin will work fine if you set everything up correctly and don't screw with the source.

BTW, It's because you set the Forum ID to 1 and that is a category. When it asks for the Forum ID it actually means it.
