Hi guys,

(This is a separated question of my other thread)

I have a question, and I would appreciate your help:

How do I disable stars for selected user groups?

Just like THIS MyBB forum does.

Example:

Group "Super Moderators" has star ranking disabled, with group image enabled:

Group "Translator" has star ranking enabled, with group image disabled:
http://community.mybboard.net/member.php...le&uid=649

In this example, I've tried setting 0 stars to "Super Moderators" group, but then it takes default stars number, wich is set in user titles, and show stars according to post count and then, stars are shown -.-

Any ideas?

Edit the user group.
No. of Stars 1
Star Image: example: images/groupimages/english/team-administrator.gif
leave the Group Image blank

But, uhm, no. I already tried that nice trick, but it doesn't work, because in this example, admin will show 1 star (wich is actually the group image) under user title in post, AND will show 5 stars (5 group images... this number of images will change according to User Titles configuration) in the profile, as I posted here.

Looks like the stars in posts take the "group stars" configuration, but the stars in profile take the stars given by "user titles" configuration that gives stars by posts count.

I have a question relating to this, can you completely disable the star system? and replace it with a different star image?

You can delete it from templates. I guess it is in the one of postbit themes.

Stars are disabled completely if you do exactly as I suggested. Stars will never be shown in posts or in profiles. It has to be like this:



Though this should take effect immediately, you may, in your case, try to rebuild the cache in your ACP.

You simply have to rename your stars gif files into the same names as those in the ./images directory (1stars.gif, 2stars.gif, etc.) and upload them to that directory to overwrite the existing ones. That's the easiest way.
