In the board settings, there is an option about the page compression. The default is 4. If i change it to something like 9 (which means it is compressed more) what are the disadvantges of this? Will it go slower or something?

Thanks maatty, having read them i don't think i will need to bother compressing my pages, i have enough bandwidth

If you compress it, it might load faster for the users (less to download = faster). Usually a compression level between 2-4 is an ideal balance for compression vs cpu-time.
