To begin, I am a complete newbie to mybb and have only been using it for about 3 hours total, in that time i installed 1.2.4, upgraded to 1.2.9
then found i had firstly, login issues, once i followed instructions to fix it, had logout isssues.

Here is what helped me based on the information found in these forums:

Login FiX: (Admin Panel > Board Settings > General Configuration)

Set your cookies

Cookie Domain: .yourdomain.com (e.g .msn.com)

Cookie Path: /forumfolder/ (e.g /msn/)

Save settings and then clear your browser cache / cookies

Login issue fixed.

Logout FiX:

Re-Upload the 1.2.9 files EXCEPT config.php, settings.php, init.php

Then clear your cache / cookies.

Done.

P.S Do Not Re-Upload the install folder.

This may not work for everyone, but it certainly workied for me, now I can log in and out without hassles or needing to delete my cookies and cache each time Even a complete newbie can do it

Total time ever using mybb: 3.5 hours (add lunch break )

Both are known and well documented issues (not MyBB bugs for anyone who feels they have an urge to report something....) and your second fix is false (The proper fix is in the thread at the top of this forum titled "CANNOT LOGOUT AFTER UPGRADE TO 1.2.8?" and the first fix is plastered in just about every 10th thread and the wiki). So I'm going to close this to prevent any confusion.
