We're not going to add a feature just because competitor X and Y have it, we're going to add it because it is something users want and that fits the profile of the application we're trying to build - a bulletin board.

MyBB is not a social networking tool and the base MyBB package will never contain features like that. If they come officially, they'll be available as addons.

trying, seems a bit slow when all the other boards have released there beta or final of there next bulletin board, one has to wonder does the Mybb Group actually have any Goals,

Is there a time limit for releasing a next version of a bulletinboard? <_<

1.2.x continues to work on PHP4, and 1.4.x will work on PHP4. Any major releases after that will not be compatible with PHP4.

We could release 1.4 now, if you'd like, but you'd be left with more bugs than necessary and an unfinished Admin CP. MyBB 1.4 won't be released until it's ready.

I was being ironic;

It really ticks me off when people are rude to the staff here. You did not ask for the link and it's really a shame you blame us for not being able to locate it yourself. Please leave if you've come here for the sake of arguing and aren't going to calm down.
We don't want to hurry you and make mistakes..take all the time you need !

I'm quite aware of what vBulletin having a blog. Thanks.

I don't see why you're blaming me for that; you never asked for any existing one, you asked if it would be included in 1.4 - simple answer, no. I didn't feel it required me to give a link.
"So called moderator"? Sorry, I believe I am a moderator here. Smile

Now please, back to the discussion of the subject.

As it's been stated many times; only new features coded in after February 2008 will be coded to comply with PHP 5.2+
1.4 is coded to comply with whatever version of PHP you may be using right now.
I am using PHP 3.0 Toungue

The minimum requirements are stated at [Wiki: Requirements] (Broken link, head over to docs.mybb.com instead). If your requirements are lower than that, we cannot officially support your issues.
Yeah I don't get why some other forum softwares have so many social networking features built in. It's like they're trying to create the ultimate all-in-one software.
A forum is a forum and that's why I love myBB. Looking forward to 1.4!
