so I don't asking for date now, but if I get it right
the announcement mean that all the future releases will work only with php 5.x
and that not include from 1.2.x to 1.4.x
please correct me once more if I'm not getting it right

Chris Boultons statement does not mean 1.4 won't be coming next year. Again like I said it will come when its ready
I'm sure you didn't read the full post Toungue

rh1n0 Wrote:From my understanding; releases after the initial 1.4 release that contain new features will be coded without regard for PHP 4 (of course, after February 2008)
Chris Boulton Wrote:MyBB 1.4, our upcoming feature release, will work correctly with PHP 4. Maintenance releases such as MyBB 1.4.1, 1.4.2 etc will also work correctly with PHP 4.
so both of this posts means that mybb 1.4 and it's Maintenance releases will working correctly with php 4, only the new feature that coming after mybb 1.4 will require php 5.

I think I get it right now, right?
I think you've got a strong understanding of it now - yes. Smile
thanks alot for make me sure about it man
Well, if that would make a better system then... in any moment that would be necessary anyways.

Good thing I already made the move from PHP4 to PHP5, and updated my websites to it. Big Grin
Good thing to hear Big Grin

A less good thing is that it'll be a big problem for my host to upgrade PHP.

They've had 4 years. I could build a skyscraper in less time than that
Stupid question:

You say 5.2 onwards only? Does that mean 5.1.2 won't work? (My host is on 5.1.2). Or was that just an error, because you said later in the announcement that it will be 5.0+

5.1 and 5.0 will still work. We recommend 5.2 though. Also it will only apply to major releases after 1.4

I know, but they're really slow ... and I guess I'll end up switching hosts. Smile
