As it's been stated many times; only new features coded in after February 2008 will be coded to comply with PHP 5.2+
1.4 is coded to comply with whatever version of PHP you may be using right now.

so..after february 2008 i will can't update mybb to newer version if the server is not updating the php? it's a small diference... whats's 5.1.6. and 5.2.0 ? ;p

You'll be able to use MyBB 1.4 with PHP4 anyway.

5.1.6. and 5.2.0 are just (minor) changes in PHP5, doesn't matter which one you are using I guess.

It will probably still support all versions of PHP 5. But there will be no PHP 4 support on new (not including 1.4 patches) MyBB code after February.

offtopic: i have a question..mybb 1.4 will be tested only by some persons or you will upload it here so everyone can search for bugs ?
Sorry for making this offtopic but i can't come through.

If my information isn't faulty, they already picked a few members as beta testers for mybb 1.4, and the only public version we'll ever get is the final,bug-ridden one

We currently are private beta testing MyBB 1.4.

can i test it please? i will push it to the max and detect all the bugs ! ;p
