Thanks for the files Dai. I've downloaded them and uploaded them successfully. I just need to CHMOD them and I'll report back.
Well that worked OK as far as the directory listing was successful. I am still unable to access the installer through my browser though.
Not that I may be of help with this cos I never had such a problem, but what error is it coming up with, or what does it say on the page?
Not Found
The requested URL /install was not found on this server.
What url are you typing into you browsers address bar?

It has to look like this...

http://www.yoursite.com/forums/install/

Just change the "yoursite.com" for your domain name, so if it's mrbean.com it would look like this...

http://www.mrbean.com/forums/install/

That's also assuming you've uploaded all the MyBB files to a directory/folder named "forums". If they're in another directory/folder, you need to use the name of that directory/folder. instead of "forums". Or is the directory named "forum" and not "forums"?
I've uploaded the files in one go. Should I have uploaded them individually? They have been uploaded into www.mrbean.ca/forums and according to the Filezilla (thing) they transferred OK. I have CHMOD(ed) those files no problem. I think I have set up my database with my web host OK as well.

My webhost admin say I have my db set up. What I would like to know is :-

1) Do my db and forum files have to be in the same directory?

2) Should I try a different ftp client?
In Filezilla, do you see the directory/folder named install?
Yes I do.
1. Your database doesn't need to be uploaded, that's something you set up through the Admin Control Panel that your webhost provided you with. As far as the database is concerned, when installing the forum through your browser you just enter the database info' when prompted.

2. No, your FTP client is fine.

I've just tried looking for...

http://www.mrbean.ca/forums/

And like you say it show as not being found, could it be that the "forums" directory is inside another directory?

Beanie, rather than keep going back and forth with this, if you could email me your FTP info', meaning the info' your webhost provided you, I can go in and have a look around for you, just to see that we're all on the same page.
