i need the template that displays the forum name.

it's right under the "welcome back" message, with all the login/logout/private messages.

and before the actual forum begins.

Just about every theme I have seen does this. You just got make sure you got the forum name set to what ever you want shown there .

basically,

the way it looks now, is that it says

welcome back blah blah blah (on gray)

Xrum Forum (on white) <-- i want to add something else to it and i want it to be on the same line as this forum name. which template contains this "Forum Name" Forum message in it?

That's the navigation =P If you want to add something to it; you can open the header template and add it after <navigation> ; but it will only be directly after the 'ForumName' if you're at the index page; when viewing a forum it will be <ForumName>/<NameOfViewedForum> [YOUR TEXT]

aah, there's no way to have the forum name on the left, and my text on the same line, but all the way to the right?

actually, nevermind, i see my mistake now. i didn't think this through.
