Hi,
When creating the backup, please specifically tell MyBB not to create a GZIP version - it will download a plain .sql file for you to upload.
Alternatively now with your current backup, if you download an application such as Winzip or WinRAR, you can extract the backup .gz file and it will be a .sql file (or a plain text file within that) which you should be able to upload and restore using phpMyAdmin.
